Aishini Damaraju is a Staff Writer for the Texas Design Journal. In 2020, she served as the Lead Mentor-in-Residence for the Stanford Science, Technology, and Medicine research program, which introduces high school and college students to the intersection of medicine and technology. Soon after, she worked with Swift Medical, a Canadian healthcare technology company that aims to revolutionize wound care through AI technology. Currently, she is conducting research under the supervision of Dr. Amy Price, a senior research scientist at Stanford School of Medicine, to evaluate informed consent guidelines for online research. Aishini believes that by empathizing and engaging with people, we can create solutions to problems that have far-reaching implications. She intends on using her design skills to reform the healthcare system. Aishini hopes to create a system of personalized healthcare and design a patient experience where patients are recognized as people, before their ailments.
